About Caio Almeida Amaro
I’m a Project Management and Project Controls Leader with 15+ years of experience delivering execution excellence in large-scale energy and infrastructure projects across Latin America and North America. My career since 2009 has covered the full project lifecycle, planning, cost and schedule control, project management, and regional leadership, giving me a comprehensive understanding of what drives success in complex Grid, high-voltage, industrial, and electrification projects. In 2025, I assumed the role of Large-Scale Grid Projects Portfolio Leader, overseeing GE GRID’s Behind-the-Meter (BTM) portfolio, an area of increasing strategic importance for GE Vernova as Data Center demand accelerates through Artificial Intelligence. This fast-growing segment is expected to scale to a multibillion-dollar portfolio in the coming years. My focus includes portfolio strategy, execution governance, organizational development, and ensuring safe, predictable, and profitable outcomes for high-visibility customer projects.Since 2023, I have also served as North America Project Controls Leader for Grid System Integration, where I oversee a USD 2B+ portfolio across HV AC, HVDC, and FACTS technologies. I lead the regional Project Controls function, driving governance, cost and schedule predictability, operational discipline, and digital transformation across multiple execution centers.Previously, as Americas Project Controls Leader (2020–2023), I managed multicultural teams across seven countries, implementing consistent cost, schedule, risk, and reporting frameworks for both North and Latin America. Before that, I led LATAM Project Controls (2017–2019), developing and maturing the project controls structure for the region with more than 30 direct reports.Earlier in my career, I worked as a Lead Project Manager at GE Power Conversion (2015–2017), delivering turnkey Mining and Energy projects in Chile and later managing services for Rotating Machines in Brazil. I started my career at Alstom Hydro (2009–2015), supporting major hydroelectric plants such as UHE Santo Antônio, Belo Monte, Teles Pires, and São Manoel, gaining deep experience in planning, cost control, project coordination, and governance.I’m passionate about developing people, strengthening execution discipline, and enabling teams to deliver safely, efficiently, and profitably, supporting the modernization of the grid and the broader energy transition.
