About Cagan Sevinc
My name is Cagan (pronounced as Chan). I was born and raised in Turkey until the age of fourteen when my family and I moved to the United States. In addition to my proficiency in English, I am also fluent in Turkish. Upon graduation from North Hills High School, I attended the California University of Pennsylvania to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechatronics Engineering Technology.After completing my education, I joined Seegrid as a Software Test Engineer from 2020 to 2021. During my time there, I worked on a variety of products, focusing on improving software functionality in order to provide our customers with the best possible results. My primary goal was developing and executing effective test cases to identify and resolve software bugs before product deployment. This experience allowed me to acquire valuable skills in Linux, test case creation, teamwork, and project management.From 2021 to 2023, I worked as a Distribution System Operator at FirstEnergy. In this role, I underwent six months of intensive training, during which I gained extensive knowledge about transformers, overhead and underground distribution lines, reclosers, capacitors, and above all, the paramount importance of safety. I became proficient in using SCADA, NMS, DMS, relay schemes, GIS view, FLEX, OMS, and other tools related to maintaining a reliable distribution system. Additionally, I learned how to effectively communicate in a three-part manner and write clearances to ensure the safety of our linemen in the field.Currently, I am actively seeking new networking opportunities and exploring positions in your company. I firmly believe that my diverse skill set acquired from my previous experiences can contribute significant value to your organization.
