Summer 2025:Project Objective: Identify root causes of failures on home standby EVO2 and PZ200 generator controllers from warranty and production.• Utilized production testers, bench simulators, and test cell generators to debug claimed issues.• Executed component analysis using an oscilloscope, DMM, and soldering, learning all controller circuits.• Analyzed the failures by creating test reports of findings, highlighting patterns found to engineers.Additional Experiences:• Performed end-to-end app testing on the home standby suite’s Bluetooth Connectivity Accessory.• Learned how to stress-test components using a temperature chamber and vibration shaker.• Soldered and fixed development PCBs including SMDs, through-hole components, and microchips.• Assisted team with tasks such as fixing an oscilloscope, replacing end-of-life parts, and power supply programming.Summer 2024:Project Objective: Create a foundation for an internal Wiki on commercial and industrial generator controller settings for a centralized space of reference.• Utilized a newly acquired DSE industrial controller and a Diesel 6.7L 150kW generator for foundation.• Discovered values, definitions, and design reasons for 1,500+ settings by meeting with engineers daily. • Started the Confluence Wiki by prioritizing user experience and hosting feedback sessions.• Overall eliminated time waste between engineers, dealers, and testers and provided future-proofing.Additional Experiences: • Updated firmware on v1.23 of Power Zone controllers and created debug stations for verification.• Involvement in AVR circuit optimization, saving $4.23 per single-phase and $3.36 per 3-phase PCB.• Participated hands-on with generator PID tuning, load acceptance, and short circuit testing post-production.
