About Caasi Lamb
Caasi Lamb serves as the Deputy Director of the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), overseeing the daily operations of the sixth largest public pension system in the country, coordinating strategic planning to best meet members’ needs, and representing the agency to members, government officials, and the public. Appointed as Deputy Director in 2024, Caasi has extensive experience in public sector budget and policy development. This includes previous positions at TRS from 2014 to 2023, culminating in the executive role of Chief Strategy Officer responsible for leading agency communications, strategic planning, enterprise risk management, continuous improvement, and special projects. Immediately before rejoining TRS, Caasi served as a chief strategy and operations officer in the private sector. Earlier in her career, Caasi worked for the Texas Legislature in various leadership roles, including Senior Advisor for Budget & Policy for both the Lieutenant Governor and Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives. She started her career in state government in as a staff member of the Texas House Committee on Appropriations and quickly rose to become Committee Director. As an enterprise leader, Caasi promotes goal-directed thinking and understands how different parts of organizations interrelate. She has strengthened organizational resilience through the integration of strategic planning, budgeting, and enterprise risk management. Caasi graduated from Texas Tech University and enjoys fly fishing and attending college sporting events with her family.
