I’m Sparsh Agarwal, a recently qualified Chartered Accountant (May 2025) with practical exposure to Indirect Taxation, financial reporting, compliance, and analytical support, developed through experience at a mid-sized CA firm and a Big 4 environment.During my articleship, I worked on end-to-end GST compliances, direct tax assignments, finalisation of accounts, audits, and client representations, which gave me a strong grounding in accounting fundamentals, regulatory compliance, and financial analysis across diverse industries. This experience helped me understand the linkage between financial statements, tax positions, and business decision-making.Currently, I am working with Ernst & Young LLP (EY) in the Indirect Taxation practice, where I manage monthly and annual GST compliances for large multinational and non-profit clients, including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-6, GSTR-9 and GSTR-9C, along with detailed reconciliations of turnover, tax liability, and input tax credit with financial records. I also support the team in drafting factual and reconciliation-based replies to GST notices, including preparation of supporting annexures under senior review.I have a strong interest in Indirect Taxation, Finance, and Accounting, particularly in areas involving reconciliations, financial analysis, process improvement, and compliance-driven decision-making. I enjoy working on complex data, researching regulatory positions, and contributing to solutions that improve financial accuracy, risk management, and operational efficiency.I aspire to build a career in roles that offer technical depth, analytical exposure, and cross-functional interaction between taxation, finance, and business teams.
