CA Rakesh Awasthi is working as CFO of NHB at New Delhi. He was working before as General Manager in Finance & Accounts, Corporate Banking, International Banking and Audit Group of IDBI Bank Ltd, Mumbai. Mr. Awasthi is a Chartered Accountant of 1987 and possesses the professional degrees of Company Secretary, Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB), Certified Information System Auditor (CISA) of USA and a post graduate degree of Commerce. He has been awarded with Best Professional Achiever Award By INstitute of Chartered Accountants of India in February, 2015. He has been Director on the Board of Mahindra Rural Housing Finance Ltd, Polyplex Corporation Ltd, Jayaswal Neco Industries Ltd, Precision Fasteners Ltd, and Vaid Elastmers Ltd. Presently, he is on the Board of India Mortgage Guarantee Corporation Ltd, New Delhi. Mr. Awasthi has working experience of more than 32 years in fields of Banking, Finance, Accounts, Audit and Taxation with Companies engaged in Construction, Manufacturing, Seed Processing and Banking Sector. He has worked with IDBI Bank, Mumbai for 20 years. Mr. Awasthi has worked in Dubai and opened overseas Branch of IDBI Bank in 2009. He has been working in Dubai till 2011. He set up infrastructure for Branch, manuals, policies/procedures for its day to day operations, and was responsible for statutory and regulatory compliance. He has also worked with International Banking Department of Bank. Till 2008, Mr Awasthi served Internal Audit Department, Concurrent Audit, Corporate Banking Audit and Information System Audit Cells. He has also been involved in successful merger of two private sector Banks viz. United Western Bank and IDBI Bank. In the past, He has been Jt. CFO and Company Secretary of U P State Seed Corporation of India Ltd. for 8 years, and Accounts/Audit Officer in Paradeep Phosphates Ltd. and U P State Samaj Kalyan Nirman Nigam for 4 years. Mr. Awasthi has been Convenor for CPE Study Circle of ICAI, at IDBI Tower, Cuffe Parade, Mumbai and taken lectures on Accounts, Audit, Risk, Banking and Compliance Topics in several conferences.
