About Tim Sheehan
I\'m a dedicated journalist with more than 30 years of professional experience as an award-winning newspaper reporter, news editor, designer and photographer in California\'s central San Joaquin Valley. In Feburary 2025 I joined the Central Valley Journalism Collaborative, a nonprofit newsroom in California\'s central San Joaquin Valley, as its inaugural Health Reporting Fellow to cover a broad range of health issues, including disparities of access to care, in the region. Specialties: From 2010 to February 2025 I was The Fresno Bee\'s lead reporter covering the development of California\'s controversial high-speed rail system for the daily newspaper, in breaking news and enterprise stories; my familiarity with the project has afforded me the opportunity to be a frequent guest for interviews by radio stations across the state. I also handled ata reporting, analysis and data visualization (charts, maps, etc.) covering a wide range of issues. I have an extensive background in reporting on local government as well as covering breaking news stories. I enjoy using social media such as Twitter and Facebook in a professional capacity to reach a growing population of readers who are non-traditional (non-newspaper) consumers of news.
