Public school systems are among the most complex organizations in the country. Most of their challenges are not instructional, they’re systemic.I’m a systems thinker and strategist who grew up as the son of a farmer and a school teacher. From an early age, I learned that results depend on preparation, discipline, and whether systems hold up under pressure. That perspective was sharpened through a career in engineering and manufacturing, where I designed automated systems and large-scale production environments and saw firsthand how small design decisions can create either stability or chaos.For more than 15 years, I’ve applied that same systems lens to U.S. public education. As Founder of LEAN Frog and LEAN Frog Digital, I’ve partnered with over 180 school systems and multiple state education agencies to help leaders move their organizations out of stagnation and chaos and toward sustainable balance.My work spans strategy, organizational design, operational clarity, and strategic foresight. I use Lean Six Sigma not as a toolkit, but as a systems philosophy adapted to the matrix-based reality of K–12 education.I’m the author of Smarter Schools: Fix the Frustration, Cut the Chaos and Ahead of the Curve: Strategic Foresight for the Next Decade in Public Education, where I explore how demographic, economic, political, and technological forces will shape the next decade for school systems.Strong school systems are built through clear strategy, disciplined execution, smart use of data, and the ability to see what’s coming before it becomes a crisis.If you’re leading a district through complexity and change, I’d welcome the conversation.
