About Byron Baldwin
After graduating from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor’s of Science degree from the Collat School of Business and a major in Management Information Systems, I began an online curriculum at Covalence’s Full Stack Web Development program. Around the same time, I was promoted within our hospitality franchise company, A.U.M. Enterprises, as the new General Manager of our Homewood Suites Downtown Birmingham near U.A.B. While I continued to learn how to program and learn HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Adobe Creative Cloud, I noticed that I began to solve problems and create better solutions as a hotel General Manager. I began visualizing applications to solve business problems common to the hospitality business.During my career, I have trained and developed five employees that have started as front desk agents and turned them into General Managers in the hospitality business. This unique ability was also demonstrated during my time at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, as I led team projects in several of my classes including project management, programming, database management, and systems analysis. Now moving forward, I have started my own web development and digital marketing agency, Blue Marlon. I am also open to new opportunities that can allow me to utilize my team building capabilities and problem solving skills to assist in data analytics, programming, and project management.
