Most firms don\'t have a management problem. They have a management development problem.You\'ve hired and promoted a great team, you believe in them, and you know they are capable of more. But developing leaders seems to always take a back seat to running the business. Hiring seasoned executives occasionally works, but it\'s expensive, inconsistent, and risky. You\'d prefer to develop from within, but ad-hoc leadership development doesn\'t scale, and you want to grow.I’ve seen this problem up close. I spent 25 years helping to grow a technical consulting firm from 25 people to over 200 across seven offices. I moved through technical delivery, HR, recruiting, business development, and project management. Throughout my work, I’ve seen the challenge of balancing business needs and employee development. The organizations that were able to continue growing didn’t just focus on hiring good people; they built systems for developing them. That\'s where Shiftfocus comes in. I help professional services firms and technical organizations build scalable systems for developing their people. When that system is working, both the business and the employees succeed. Engagement increases, your best people stay with the company, and promoting from within isn’t an aspiration; it’s the way you do business.
