My current involvement with MountainWest includes-Studying under and learning from clergy, professional musicians and sound engineers-Leading and directing both main and background vocals in large and more acoustic worship settings; learning team-building and management skills-Speaking for groups of middle and high schoolers, leading them in worship, prayer, and helping facilitate small group discussions-Practicing stage presence and facilitating the flow of gatherings, learning how to transition effectively-Learning the skills needed to MD and manage production for various types of worship gatherings-Studying under our lead Students and Worship pastors as well as various MDs and members of our production and worship teams in speaking, directing, and leading worship-Building upon music theory and understanding music technology and performance in the context of modern worship leadership-Studying and implementing theology and apologetics, particularly in the context of worship, and their impact on a modern gathering experience-Becoming proficient in using Planning Center Services, IEMS/wireless microphone setups and audio mixing. Today I can add ProPresenter and EQ/more in-depth mixing skills to my musical repertoire.
