As the system lead for the nuclear graphite program at X-energy, I contribute to the design, analysis, and project management of the Xe-100 Graphite Core Assembly, a key component of the innovative Xe-100, small modular reactor. I also manage contracts and engineering efforts for multiple sub-contractors, develop project schedules, and contribute to the procurement and quality assurance efforts.I have a bachelor\'s degree in mechanical engineering from Grove City College, and I am currently pursuing a master\'s degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University. As the Engineering Manager for the XE-100 Reactor Vessel Internals Program at X-energy, I lead the execution of large-scale design projects relating to the development and implementation of graphite and metallic components and assemblies within the reactor vessel. To drive the success of this program, I manage a team of eight engineers and a budget exceeding $50 million in support of scope which spans across design, development, quality assurance, licensing, supply chain, and testing. My role centers on executing strategic development initiatives and key decision making as well as planning, budgeting, and scheduling to align with contractual and technical requirements. All of this is executed while fostering collaboration among my team, external subcontractors, and internal cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project delivery and identify opportunities for process improvement.I manage the development of comprehensive project documentation, including execution plans and risk management strategies, while coordinating inputs from departments such as Engineering, Quality, Licensing, and Finance. I oversee project performance metrics, ensuring adherence to schedules, cost estimates, and quality standards, as well as facilitating cross-project collaboration to optimize resources and streamline processes.Specializing in graphite system development, I ensure compliance with rigorous nuclear regulatory standards while consistently integrating with supply chain, quality assurance, and analysis teams.
