About Burhan Abdullah
Postdoctoral researcher, working at the intersection of power systems engineering, machine learning, and infrastructure planning. My current research focuses on techno-economic modeling for large-scale energy infrastructure, with active work on the Namma Metro Blue Line project at IISc. I develop data-driven and scenario-based models that integrate engineering, economic, and regulatory constraints into actionable decision-support frameworks. On the research side, I specialize in AI-assisted optimization and control for renewable-rich power grids,spanning microgrid stability, photovoltaic systems, power quality, and low-inertia grid dynamics. I also contribute to PowerMCP at Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences : an open-source platform for agent-based modeling and AI-driven decision support in intelligent power systems. Beyond research, I serve as a reviewer for Springer Nature, Taylor & Francis, Frontiers, and and mentor early-career researchers through Student Energy. I contribute occasionally to public discourse on energy policy and sustainability through columns in Greater Kashmir. Currently open to postdoctoral positions, research collaborations, and faculty opportunities in power systems, renewable energy, and AI for energy systems.
