HackingHub evolved from CTFchallenge.com which was a side project I started in 2019 born from being frustrated that there weren\'t any realistic web application hacking challenges. The challenges I created came from the mindset of hacking a whole application or whole businesses rather than just a single endpoint. Today I have two main duties, firstly developing and mainting the main application which is built on a LEMP stack with my own custom PHP framework, the main application handles user registration, listing challenges, leaderboards, backend management, email campaigns and handling the launching of new challenges either from cloud VMs or my own application for managing docker containers (similar to a very scaled-down k8).My second duty is creating educational web app hacking challenges, these range from different vulnerability classes, known vulns and infrastructure misconfigurations. Each challenge usually has some amount of research first and then the creation of the challenge and then packaging it up in a docker container ready for deployment.
