IT is a truth universally acknowledged, that a social network in possession of good intentions must be in want of moderation and paid staff.\"After realizing that the current offering for social media all have serious shortcomings, I decided to do something about it. Darcy collects a merry band of experts to build something that doesn\'t worry about advertising revenue, doesn\'t just scratch a nerd itch, is a joy to use and most of all a safe online civic space.Darcy intends to be decentralized, easily useable, and Open Source. My task as Founder is to coordinate the current team of volunteers, to provide a consistent vision and business model and to raise the funds needed to make this a reality. It is a challenging and new role for me, but I can draw from 20 years of experience.

I know how IT works, from the technical as well as the organisational point of view. I understand and support the more-than-legitimate wants and needs of end users, even though more salty SysAdmins call them \"lusers\" behind their back.Today, I am a Product Person at the Berlin Institute of Health, working on european health data projects.In my free hours I moonlight as the head of Darcy.is, a new approach to have a safe, decentralized and modern online civic space.
