Responsible for Leading and Managing the Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) team as they support primary and secondary LIS applications used by VUMC laboratories. Primary systems include Cerner Millennium, Cerner Copath Plus, and SCC Soft Blood Bank with numerous middleware applications to support instrument interfaces. • Currently lead the LIS team supporting 11 unique laboratories, including a stand-alone regional reference lab, academic medical center lab, 3 regional hospital labs, and 6 clinic and satellite labs.• Provided leadership for the LIS build-out portion of the recently opened Vanderbilt Medical Laboratories Reference lab while concurrently maintaining and enhancing the LIS applications in support of ongoing operations.• Provided leadership during the acquisition of three regional hospitals to restructure and replace their primary laboratory equipment to standardize testing platforms across the enterprise, resulting in increased economy of scales for the laboratories, consistency of laboratory reporting across the enterprise, and simplification of LIS maintenance requirements.• Functioned as interim laboratory director during the acquisition of one of the regional hospitals during the final phase of transitioning and going live from legacy EHR and LIS applications due to the Lab director being out with Covid and not enough lab leadership available to fill the leadership gap.• Provided leadership to the LIS team and others across HealthIT during the Covid pandemic as numerous changes occurred across VUMC and the global healthcare community.• Led the LIS team through a multi-version upgrade of Cerner Millennium Pathnet and Cerner Copath Plus.• Led the LIS team through a multi-version upgrade of SCC Soft Blood Bank.
