About David Smith
Through my work, I seek to empower confidence and authenticity through sport, exercise, and performance. Rooted in my personal and professional experiences, I believe in the physical, mental, and social benefits of sport and exercise to foster positive change within ourselves, our communities, and society. Using a person centered and ecological approach, I serve as leader, coach, and manager in various capacities as an expression of my passion for fostering individual, team, and community development. My personal and professional interests encompass a wide array of pursuits, notably serving as a coach, teacher, manager, and researcher. The intersectionality of these roles within my work driven by my mission highlight my performance output to be greater than the sum of its parts. My expertise and experience encompasses (but not limited to) sport and exercise science; sport, exercise, and performance psychology; sport management; coaching (strength & conditioning, mental performance, swimming, fitness, sport); teaching (kinesiology and sport management); research; journalism; amusement/theme park industry, and more.For that I seek out opportunities that challenge me to reach higher, jump further, and run faster in pursuit of long term growth and stability for which I feel I can thrive.
