Software Development - vSANVMware vSAN (formerly Virtual SAN) is a hyper-converged, software-defined storage (SDS) product developed by VMware that pools together direct-attached storage devices across a VMware vSphere cluster to create a distributed, shared data store.Currently working as a team lead for the placement engine (Cluster Level Object Manager Daemon) for VSAN. It\'s responsible for placing of objects in the cluster based on software defined policies (replication/performance requirements) and managing the resources of the cluster to deliver optimal performance while keeping the cluster evenly utilised and balanced.Architected and implemented a solution to support nested levels of fault domains in smaller clusters. It\'s done by replicating the objects across disk entities within a host. This enabled many ROBO(Remove Office Branch Office) customers to comply with their availability related SLAs.Implemented various tools to recover vsan cluster from various failure events.Responsible for working on customer escalations of complex nature to provide root-cause analysis and fixes.Played a key role as mentor and helped in growing India vSAN team.Contributed to bug fixing for other core modules such as Distributed Object Manager and Log Structured Object Manager.
