About Center of Excellence

The National Energy Center of Excellence offers 12 industry-recognized degree and certificate programs geared towards preparing the next generation of energy employees, along with training for existing workers. Courses are available online and on campus and are an excellent investment for those looking to enter the energy industry, or seeking ways to advance their career. The NECE has been designated by the US Department of Energy as the National Power Plant Operations Technology and Education Center, recognizing BSC as the premier national center of education and training for operators and technicians in the energy industry. Programs include: BAS in Energy Management Electric Power Technology Electrical Transmission Systems Technology Energy Services & Renewable Technician Instrumentation & Control Technology Lineworker (Electrical) Mechanical Maintenance Technology Nuclear Power Technology Petroleum Production Technology Power Plant Technology Process Plant Technology Water & Wastewater Technology The NECE also offers customized training for employers including apprenticeship training, technical training, NERC CEH courses, and Smart Grid courses. Our high quality training combines state-of-the-art technology and industry experienced instructors to create an innovative educational experience.

   The National Energy Center of Excellence offers online and classroom training designed by the energy industry for the current and future workforce. Associate and Bachelor degrees are available in several different energy sectors. Non-credit offerings include courses for the Smart Grid and NERC CEHs. In addition, apprenticeship programs and customized training packages are available.
