Results-driven Accessibility & Inclusion Consultant and Learning Experience Designer. I have consulted with organizations across Canada, including Electronic Arts, AB Blue Cross, Explore Edmonton, Fringe Theatres, WCB, non-profits, several chambers of commerce, municipal & provincial governments, mental health organizations, private entrepreneurs and startups, and others.I also contribute to thought leadership on several committees, including the Accessible Procurement Standards Technical Committee with Accessible Standards Canada. Did you know?Fact:A 2018 study by Accenture in partnership with the American Association of People with Disabilities and Disability:IN reports that businesses that actively seek to employ people with disabilities outperform businesses that do not- Their revenues were 28% higher- Net income was two times more- Profit margins were higher by 30%- Employers who embraced disability saw a 90% increase in employee retention.ANDResearch has reported (Kaletta, Binks & Robinson, 2012)- 40% lower safety incident rate- 67% lower medical treatment costs- 73% lower employee time away due to accidents- 77% lower overall costs associated with accidents Also Fact:Canada has already implemented a nation-wide Accessibility Act, and has also recently approved for a National Autism Framework to be implemented in the very near future. This will result in more specific legislation created to support Autistic and Neurodivergent workers, as well as legislation to support workers with any type of disability.
