ABOUT BRYON PETERSEN
Professor in the fields of Liver-pathophysiology and stem cell biology. Director of Stem Cell research and Hepatic Disorders in the Dept. of Pediatrics. I have graduated 13 PhD students and 3 MS students and served as mentor for 8 undergraduates for their honors thesis all at the University of Florida. In addition, I have mentored 10 post-doc fellows to faculty positions at a variety of institutes across the world. I have over 76 peer reviewed publications and 10 plus book chapters to my credit. I have maintained continuous NIH funding for the past 15 years securing over $20M research dollars. Two US patents have been granted based upon my research and there are several others at various stages in the patenting process. I currently sit as a permanent member for the NIAA1 study section reviewing grants for the NIH. I also sit on the scientific adviory board for IUPUI\'s Regenerative Biology Institute.Specialties: Stem Cell biology in terms of activation, proliferation, and differentiation. Also, liver regeneration processes due to injury brought on by toxic or viral injury.
