About Bryn Kearney

Currently working as the Rutgers University Department of Marine and Coastal Sciences Education and Engagement Fellow as part of the NOAA Coastal Resilience Fellowship Program, focusing on the EduCATE (Education, Climate Awareness, Training, and Engagement) component of the $72.5 million \"Building a Climate Ready New Jersey\" grant. I am pursuing my passions for environmental education, engagement, and communication by supporting the development of adaptation measurement frameworks, facilitating robust project management, and providing on-the-ground support for EduCATE initiatives.I obtained my B.A. in Environmental Studies and Economics from Oberlin College in 2025, where I received High Honors for my work investigating the impact of exposure to climate action via digital signage. I am a passionate environmental communicator and educator, interested in promoting community resilience, systems thinking, and empowering people to take climate action. My collaborative research with Dr. John Petersen and Dr. Cindy Frantz,\"Overcoming pluralistic ignorance - Brief exposure to positive thoughts and actions of others can enhance social norms related to climate action and support for climate policy,\" was recently published in the journal, Sustainability.
