About Bryce Butler
As an Engineer II, Instrument at the Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research, I apply my background in biomedical engineering to support high throughput screening and patient derived organoid workflows through laboratory automation, imaging, and data driven analysis. My work spans automation method development, instrument integration, troubleshooting, and image analysis pipelines that enable reliable and scalable screening operations.I hold a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Georgia Tech, where I built a strong foundation in engineering principles, life sciences, and applied research. Before joining the Frederick National Laboratory, I worked at AGILOX North America supporting the deployment and integration of autonomous robotic systems, strengthening my technical versatility, collaboration skills, and problem solving mindset.I am passionate about advancing automation in translational research by improving workflow reliability, standardization, and quantitative imaging. I continue to expand my skills in liquid handler programming, CAD and parts design, and segmentation model development to enhance organoid imaging analysis and screening efficiency.Outside of the lab, I also work as a YMCA swim instructor, which has strengthened my communication, coaching, and leadership skills. My path has been interdisciplinary, and I am open to opportunities beyond my current focus where I can keep learning and take on new challenges. I am especially interested in roles that leverage engineering, problem solving, and building reliable systems, including design engineering and other technical paths.
