As Director of Communications for USA Fencing, the national governing body for the sport of fencing in the United States, I\'m helping introduce fencing to a new generation of athletes while shining a spotlight on the compelling stories of fencers, from first-timers to Olympians and Paralympians.• Lead a team of three that creates press releases, CEO speeches, emails, news articles, web copy, social media updates, video scripts, podcasts and more — adapting to fit the audience while maintaining a consistent voice. • Oversee the organization\'s crisis communication efforts, working closely with internal stakeholders to respond swiftly but smartly to emerging issues.• Continuously grow Fencing\'s roster of media contacts (especially those that don\'t regularly cover sports) through timely story pitching.• Led all communications efforts as the USA Fencing press officer at the Olympic Games Paris 2024, where USA Fencing ranked sixth in social prevalence.• Helmed the launch of a completely new USA Fencing website (September 2024 debut), with a focus on easier navigation, accessibility and mobile friendliness. • Reimagined USA Fencing\'s voice and look through sharper writing and improved Canva-designed graphics — all in an effort to make a centuries-old sport feel fresh.
