Healthcare IT, going on 10 years. Started at Aspire Health before Anthem acquired us in 2018 (now Elevance). We built a palliative care EMR from the ground up — that system ran for nearly a decade and was just retired. Now I\'m on the Carelon Global Solutions side, Elevance\'s tech and operations arm that keeps the backend systems, data, and digital infrastructure running across health plans and providers. Currently working toward my AWS Cloud Practitioner certification.

ABOUT BRYAN DUPLANTIS

I\'ve spent the last year building things I actually want to use — a personal dashboard that pulls together my notes, tasks, news, and calendar with AI doing the heavy lifting; an RSS reader that scores articles by how much I\'d care about them; a news aggregator that gives me geopolitical context instead of just headlines. None of these are products. They\'re tools I built for myself because nothing off the shelf did what I needed. The project I\'m most excited about moving forward is Surplus Rescue — an MVP for coordinating bulk food pickups. Drivers, donors, destinations, timing. It\'s simple logistics right now, but I\'m building toward something real because food insecurity is a problem I want to help solve, not just read about. The tech stack across all of this landed on Next.js, React, TypeScript, and Python, with Claude, GPT-4, and Gemini wired in depending on the job. I use Claude Code to build — I\'m directing every decision, designing the architecture, choosing what talks to what and why, but I\'m not hand-writing every line. That\'s just how software gets made now, and I\'d rather be honest about it than pretend otherwise. My actual day job is Sr. Systems Analyst at Elevance Health, going on 10 years. Started at Aspire Health, now on the Carelon Global Solutions side — the tech and operations arm that keeps everything running. Before that I had a completely different life — running live broadcast graphics at Fox Sports 1, teaching web video production at Columbia College Chicago, making recruiting highlight films for high school athletes. The through-line is I\'ve always been the person who figures out how the system works and then builds something with it.I\'m not looking for a job. I\'m just building stuff and learning a ton doing it.
