About Bryan Kiernan
Bryan Kiernan has over 20 years of alternative investment experience, combined with a long track record of success within the various niche investment businesses that he has served. Currently, Bryan is the Chief Development Officer for Katonah EvE LLC where his focus is to develop the firms digital asset management business, continue to foster the firms tenured institutional TradFi business, and is the acting portfolio manager for its Chinese commodities business. Previously, from 2004 through 2011 Bryan acted as Vice President of Emil Van Essen, LLC where he managed various operational, compliance, marketing, client relations, information technology, human resource, legal, back office, accounting and growth of the firm to over $300M in assets under management. Bryan also served as the sole internal control board member for the Emil van Essen Spread Arbitrage Master Fund, LLC and its corresponding feeder funds. From 2011 to 2014 Bryan functioned as the Managing Director of Waterloo Trading Group a financial technology and proprietary trading affiliate of Emil van Essen LLC. From 2014 to 2021 Bryan functioned as the Chief Development Officer for Emil van Essen LLC during which time the firm operated one of the largest WTI Crude Oil market making desks globally and continued to grow the EvE brand within the managed futures community. Other affiliated projects and business included the development and operation of a proprietary CTA selection model used as the allocation methodology for the Abacus Global Fund (Master) Ltd, a Cayman Islands master-feeder multi-manager CTA Fund, in addition to having served as a Director of this fund from March 2010 through April 2011. From April 2004 through December 2010 Bryan served as Vice President of Business and Strategy Development at Vankar Trading Corp, a Chicago, IL-based Introducing Broker and financial technology company. Prior to joining Emil van Essen LLC, Bryan worked with two Fortune Global 500 firms: Allianz Asset Management GmbH in Munich from February 2002 through April 2003 and Bank One Capital Markets in Chicago from May 2003 through April 2004. Bryan graduated from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business in 2001 with dual degrees in Finance and International Business, in addition to having studied at Hochschule Reutlingen European School of Business.
