Cycling is good for mind body and soul. It is an activity which addresses a variety of health and social issues, proven to have beneficial effects on physical and mental health. An affordable and environmentally friendly means of transport, cycling should, but isn’t, always available to all. By providing refurbished bikes at reasonable prices, or free of charge to persons in need, Recyke Y’ Bike: promotes and encourages cycling; advances education of all ages of the public in the safe used, re-use and maintenance of bicycles; helps to protect and preserve the environment; and, develops the capacity and skills of the socially disadvantaged community of the north east of England.
