RESPONSIBILITY PROFILE: I report to the Business Unit Leader – Global Large Tractors with a $10-$19M OPEX and 48 employees with 5 direct reports. I am responsible for leading Large Tractor design, development, validation planning, and release, focusing on quality & reliability, cost reductions, and factory engineering support. I develop engineering processes, lead Scrum/Agile teams, and manage project costs, resources, schedules, and budgets.ACHIEVED IN THIS ROLEBUDGETING & FORECASTING / COST REDUCTION / PRODUCT INNOVATION• When a depressed market forced budget reductions, I was determined to reduce costs while retaining key programs. I built/led a multi-functional team to identify cost drivers, determined product redesigns, and increased commonalities between models. This strategy achieved $10M in cost savings, eliminating program cuts and achieving faster time to market for new products. This was duplicated by all product teams and rated ‘Outstanding.’TEAM LEADERSHIP / PROJECT MANAGEMENT / PROCESS IMPROVEMENT• I was recruited to reduce defect/field failure warranty claims. I evaluated and categorized 12K claims by type. I deployed a best-in-class training program to resolve issues, built 4 Scrum engineering teams, facilitated claim ranking via a Pugh Concept Selection matrix, and led the design/process. Within ~180 days, this reduced product defect rates by 35%, 60% by the end of the first year, and 80% by the end of year 3. Warranty claims reduced by 72%.
