ABOUT BRYAN CORNISH

I retired from active duty in the United States Navy at the end of February 2018. During my 26-year career I excelled in operational roles ranging from nuclear reactor instrumentation and control systems technician to Department Manager as an Engineering Department Master Chief, responsible for the training, qualification and supervision of up to 100 Sailors and Junior Officers in the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and repair of a submarine nuclear propulsion plant and its associated spaces. I also have significant experience in nuclear propulsion training, serving as a Reactor Operator and Training Engineering Officer of the Watch at a Naval Nuclear Prototype Training Unit and as the Lead Instructor for a nuclear propulsion control room simulator (Fleet Interactive Display Equipment, or FIDE, trainer), the “Gold Standard” for naval nuclear propulsion training. I applied the lessons and, more importantly, the standards I learned in nuclear propulsion to a new industry by accepting a position with EMCOR Facilities Services. Despite the industrial dissimilarity, the need to review and interpret standards and then effectively communicate them to a team remains constant and has been vital to correcting several long-standing performance issues with my team. I am a proactive manager and leader who lives to identify and improve weaknesses in programs or processes, readiness and operations while developing future leaders in complex, advanced fields. I am currently seeking any opportunities in the civilian and federal sectors that will allow me to utilize my wealth of experience and knowledge to improve your organization.
