About Bryan Cobb

With 20 years of experience in medical affairs related roles spanning diagnostics, biotechnology, and pharma, I am a passionate and driven leader who strives to improve healthcare outcomes through innovative approaches (precision medicine, ML/AI, MA excellence, strategic initiatives). I\'ve demonstrated success in leading (and inspiring, empowering) teams in different roles, building & executing strategic medical plans and working across therapeutic areas to drive impacts. I thrive in a culture that favors collaboration both internally and externally and have a proven track record of setting up key collaborations and strategic partnerships that led to successful and substantial impacts. As a board-certified clinical molecular geneticist, I have a deep understanding of the molecular mechanisms of disease (including rare diseases) and a deep understanding of personalized medicine diagnostics and therapies. I have extensive experience in diagnostics, including supporting CLIA laboratories across the US (large reference labs, hospital and public health labs). At Genentech, I develop and implement strategic medical plans in support of drug development and clinical trials, addressing key unmet medical needs and enabling better and equitable care for patients across therapeutic areas. As part of a global talent pool, I was asked to lead a joint partnership with GE Healthcare to create a novel ML/AI clinical virtual assistant with natural language processing, which received FDA 510k clearance. I was responsible for a multidisciplinary team of over 60 people (including engineers, nurses, clinicians, and product developers), to work on building and operationalizing clinical decision support tools that leverage electronic medical records and real-world data. I was the global head of medical affairs, reporting to the CMO, working closely with the Head of Business and the Lifecycle leaders and focused on developing team members and empowered teams that I led.I also published and presented research in different disease across and topics (e.g. digital and traditional biomarkers, early disease detection, diagnostics applications, and optimal treatment strategies). I enjoy working with key societies and world-class experts. Skills that I have developed include high impact presentations (including to the Roche Board of Directors), building vision and strategies with business relevance mindset, process improvements, evaluating scientific data / research / grants and building/contributing to high impact teams.
