WORK HISTORY
Superintendent Train Operations @Union Pacific Railroad
Selected by executive leadership to lead a new hybrid role leading both a Union Pacific Territory and leading a jointly owned switching company called the Wichita Terminal Association. Currently leading the OKT team on the Union Pacific with operations in Kansas and Oklahoma including the metroplexes of Wichita and Oklahoma City. Our team has achieved a 100% reduction in reportable personal injuries and a 56.3% decrease in Rail Equipment Incidents, while embracing growth in volume by making 97.1% of the car connections, running 92% on time, and executing quality customer service with a 97.2% on time performance to and from our local customers. In this role, we adapted our operation to the zero based org chart by brining in a new wheel of manager of yard operations to train and develop for their next role in the company. The Wichita Terminal Association is a separate joint facility that is jointly owned by the BNSF and the UPRR. In this role, I report to the board of directors of the Wichita Terminal Association. The Wichita Terminal Association acts as a switching customer to not only serve customers in the old stock yards area of Wichita but also acts as an interchange bridge between 3 railroads. The superintendent of the Wichita Terminal Association is responsible for all facets of running a short line railroad including operations, engineering, capital planning, finance, accounting, continuous improvement, and sales and marketing. The WTA team has achieved a 100% reduction in Reportable Injuries while increasing customer car loads by 17.1% and revenue.
