About Bhavana Veeravalli

Design is my everything. My origins as a designer began when I was young, around kindergarten, with a fascination for doodles. l remember the exhilarating feeling of taking what already existed in the world and altering them to fit the vision I had in my head—a tree with tangerine starfish as leaves, and flowers with silver nails as stems. Drawing and doodling let me tell stories in a way that corresponded with how I wanted to see the world.Now, as I pursue a Bachelor\'s in Graphic Design & Experience Design at NCSU, I see that my desire to mold the world in a way that can be understood, not only by myself but by others, is the purpose of design. Design focuses on the idea of world-building for people, specifically, how designers explore the possible futures that can exist for people and create the designed artifacts that will take us there. For this reason, the process of using a human-centered design approach in User Experience Research & Design to create end-user products is empowering and fundamental. The process ensures that whatever design I create, will empower users because of data-guided design decisions. Design in its truest nature continues to push me to go beyond the boundaries of tradition to discover the possible futures that can exist, or rather, the possible futures that I have yet to design for people. Design is my everything because it is a field of freedom that lets my creativity mold reality.
