ABOUT BRUNO SOUCY

Lawyer with a proven track record in terms of both common sense and out-of-the box approaches to solving legal problems and doing so in an efficient and timely manner at a mid-size firm, my first few years of practice were spent learning all aspects of business law, from M&A work to secured lending and from advertising to privacy work. I then progressively specialized in the fields of Intellectual Property law, Marketing law and Technology law. The great majority of my work in these fields is on the business end. I provide counsel to clients with respect to their business operations as well as with respect to specific transactions or legal issues. I also assist in the negotiation, documentation and implementation of various transactions. About 10% of my practice is focused on intellectual property litigation, mainly in the areas of trademarks and copyright. My firm services both SMEs and institutional clients which offers me the best of both worlds. I am frequently called upon to work with and report to managers, proprietors, in-house legal counsel and foreign instructing counsel. I have worked on matters smaller in scope where I have been the only lawyer involved, as well as worked on large matters as part of a legal team and, in some instances, as part of a due diligence or risk management team. In conjunction with the foregoing, I have worked using different reporting styles and degrees of tracking and reporting, both in English and in French (I am fluently bilingual).I have obtained experience in various sectors, namely information technology, telecommunication, financial services (mainly insurance), retail, pharmaceutical and medical devices, government procurement and entertainment (video game, music, film, events).I have developed a reputation at my firm for my professionalism as well as for taking great care of clients and providing them with quality service in a timely and friendly manner.
