About Bruce Swett

I’m a technology innovator, whose leadership in Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotic autonomy and cloud computing has resulted in 17 product launches in the defense, intelligence, and medical domains. This technical expertise in Aerospace and Defense also translates into product development for broader commercial applications and is enhanced with my experience starting and growing businesses. My value-add is monetizing AI innovation by creating AI and autonomy products that align with customer needs and corporate strategy. I have written over 90 proposals and have helped to bring in over $150M in new business and $2.5B in new contract ceiling. My role in an organization is usually as an innovation lead. In this role, I focus on integrating the strategic vision of the organization, emerging market opportunities, and tangible, real-time advances in AI research. An important function of leading the monetization of new technology is to evaluate emerging AI capabilities to support strategic decision making around mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and intellectual property development. My work has garnered numerous awards – including a President\'s Award for Innovation at Northrop Grumman, several Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Innovation Awards, and research innovation awards from the National Institutes of Health and the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. I have two patent applications for AI-related innovations, as well as numerous intellectual property disclosures.I served for 7 years as a member of the Army Science Board (ASB), which is limited to 40 U.S. technology leaders. The ASB provides independent consultation to the Secretary of the Army, Army Chief of Staff, and Army senior leaders. In my role with the ASB, I have evaluated Army technology investments, programs, policies, structure, and doctrine, and have reported out findings and recommendations. I was awarded the Army Meritorious Civilian Service Medal – the Army\'s 3rd highest medal – for my service on the ASB.I act as a subject matter expert and consultant in the areas of AI, robotic autonomy, edge computing, and cloud computing – both nationally and internationally. I have consulted with the Israeli Defense Force on AI and brain-computer interfaces technologies at the Hebrew University, and have served on the Pontifical Academy of Science, advising Pope Francis on AI and robotic technologies. I also served on a study panel for the Peace Research Institute of Oslo (PRIO) on AI and robotics in warfare.
