My goal has always been to be at the \"bleeding edge\" of the latest technologies and to apply those new ideas to old problems. I enjoy solving difficult problems whether they are technical, process or people oriented.Technical Experience :I have over a 32 year track record of innovation, problem solving and effective people and technology management in software engineering, operations and IT infrastructure. I enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and understand the challenge of marrying new technologies with the need for operational stability and cost management. I was an early Internet adopter and have grown with the industry. I started with putting FileNet\'s customer service system on the internet in the early 90\'s. I have designed several high performance Oracle platforms using Linux OS and commodity hardware. While at goto.com and Yahoo, I worked with Oracle, AMD, HP and Netapp to introduce 64 bit Linux as an enterprise platform for Oracle database using NFS based storage for Linux RAC dbs. We were one of the first major companies to use this solution. I brought new innovations to Countrywide including Ascential (IIS) Grid Tool Kit on Linux. I am also a software developer and have created a number of useful apps in Perl and Java to aid in DB and system maintenance. For example I developed a PKSC12 managed authentication system for Oracle for Shopzilla.Management Experience :I have over 18 years experience in managing teams of developers, administrators. I also have significant experience in setting goals and defining strategy for large initiatives.Specialties: System architecture, platform architecture, Hadoop (Cloudra), Hadoop Security, Oracle noSQL DB, Oracle database (RAC and single instance), Netapp storage Integration with Oracle, Ascential IIS HPC grid computing, Linux OS, hardware infrastructure for Database systems.
