About Bruce R.
The Revitalizing Auto Communities Environmental Response (RACER) Trust is an environmental response trust established as a qualified settlement fund, created by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York in 2011 to assume title to, clean up, reposition and sell the properties abandoned by the former General Motors Company in its 2009 bankruptcy. The portfolio consisted of 336 properties with 34 MM SF in 167 buildings on 6,776 acres of land in 83 locations in 14 states. The Trust’s mandate, as stipulated in the 2010 Consent Decree and Settlement Agreement entered into by the U.S, the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe and the 14 States, is to sell these properties to buyers who will invest in new development, restore tax base and create jobs to help the communities hurt by GM’s bankruptcy. To date, RACER Trust has completed more than 80 sales resulting in pledges of more than $3.8 billion in private investment and 14,887 jobs.Specialties: Real estate & finance, environmental remediation, economic development, brownfield redevelopment, renewable energy, governmental affairs, and communications.
