About Bruce Monson
Revision Coming - I am back at Luke AFB as the Emergency Manager. After a successful military career in the US Air Force (MSgt/E7 Retired), I was lucky to obtain a contracting job as a program manager within the Emergency Management office at Luke AFB for three years (Installation Protection Program). After that contract was terminated by the Air Force I stumbled upon an open Emergency Services Planner position for Maricopa County, within the County\'s Emergency Management department. Little did I know, within a short span of time, I would be part of big changes that happened at the department, which provided for promotion opportunities amongst the Emergency Services Planners (now Emergency Management Coordinators). I now lead the Emergency Management Coordinators and have eight personnel that work for me within the Operations (and Planning) section, and during ASU\'s spring and fall semesters we will bring an intern (one intern each semester) to hopefully provide them with both experience and a good foothold within the Emergency Management careerfield. This department has really grown and become a top-notch operation. We continue to make our processes better and always try to learn from our mistakes. I work with an awesome group of people within our department and I also have the privilege of working with many outstanding public safety and other disaster related public, private and social agencies/personnel within the county, the state and federal government.
