   The Commission is comprised of music business professionals, musicians, songwriters, educators, business and civic leaders from all walks of life brought together by our love of music and Columbus. All dedicated to the belief that through support of music, we can create richer, happier, more vibrant lives and significantly enhance economy for the people of Columbus. •Establish Columbus as a nationally recognized center for music and innovation •Promote economic and cultural value of music to government officials, business leaders and the general public •Created the Gift of Music student instrument drive providing over in budget relief for Columbus City Schools by placing 2,600 instruments in the hands of school children most of whom come from minority and economically challenged households. Strong focus on diversity and workforce development •Music Columbus/Music Everywhere program engages organizations to incorporate music into their events; Nationwide Memorial Golf Tournament, Columbus Sports Commission, Experience Columbus, Columbus Crew Black & Gold week, new Crew stadium, Columbus Convention Center, John Glenn Airport, Downtown Development, Columbus Commons and others •Founded Music Business Mondays educational forums, + attendees, led by twenty-four top industry speakers •Earn As You Learn summer mentorship program, paying youth $15.00 per hour as they prepare for careers in the music industry.
