ABOUT BRUCE A COSGROVE

Bruce is an accomplished professional with a diverse background in science, entrepreneurship, and finance. With a Master\'s degree in Science from Simon Fraser University, he has contributed to the development of groundbreaking technology in energy storage during his time at Moli Energy Ltd,(MoLi©) where he helped create the world\'s first rechargeable lithium battery and secured major contracts, including one with the US Military. In July 1986, MoLi© team members were distinguished with the Canada Awards for Excellence in the Invention category. He also led multiple public companies as an interim CEO, driving value through strategic acquisitions and listings on major stock exchanges. Recently, Bruce\'s focus has shifted towards sustainable gold recovery, spearheading Manipueira Gold Recovery Technology, Inc. as President/CEO. The company aims to replace toxic mercury and cyanide salts used in artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM) operations with an environmentally-friendly leaching solution derived from the cyanogenic bitter cassava plant known as Manipueira or cassava waste water. Manipueira promotes a circular economy by transforming agricultural waste from cassava production into a valuable resource for gold recovery. This creates synergies between the mining and agricultural sectors, reducing waste and enhancing sustainability. By offering a sustainable, scalable solution, Manipueira is poised to disrupt both the ASGM and large-scale gold mining (LSGM) sectors, addressing the urgent need for cleaner, safer mining practices globally. Mercury and cyanide salts do not offer any circular economy benefits - they are single-use, environmentally destructive chemicals creating human health threats. Our business model revolves around providing sustainable solutions to the mining industry while creating value for miners, investors, and the planet through technology and partnerships; the foundation for robust ESG. My work in advancing sustainable mining solutions reflects my commitment to both innovation and environmental stewardship.
