Marine Transporation Industry Tugs and Barges for MoranMy father worked at Moran, put me on the tugs during summer vacations, when I graduated from St. John\'s in 1976, the best job and certainly the most fun was to return to the tugs. I worked on Moran tugs and achieved a USCG license in 1980, worked as a mate on the boats for 9 months. Apparently, Moran determined that I was a liability to the company steering company tugs and brought me into the office as NY harbor dispatcher. I was very fortunate to have been taken under the tutelage of Tom Moran, president and principal owner of Moran at the time, who taught me marine transportation, chartering and many life lessons. I have been with Moran my whole career, the successors to the Moran family, the Tregurtha\'s and the Barker\'s are great men and have built Moran and their affiliated companies into a well-respected, first-class marine organizations.
