Leader of the GLIMS (glims.org) initiative. I apply various satellite remote sensing and GIS techniques to mapping of mountain glaciers globally. Curator of the GLIMS database and Web site (using PostgreSQL, PostGIS, MapServer, and other open source software). Participated in a USAID-funded project, CHARIS, studying Himalayan glacier hydrology using remote sensing, modeling, and field techniques. Member of the software development group. Write Python code to implement Web services and data processing software. Supervise some members of the group.
