ABOUT BRUCE MIDGLEY

A commercially astute and results-driven Offshore Construction Manager with a proven record of merit-based progression across the offshore energy sector, spanning early renewable wind farm developments through to complex oil and gas subsea construction projects.I began my career in offshore renewables, working on wind farm projects involving tower cable installation, cable pulling, and early cable lay activities, before progressing into large-scale oil and gas operations. This progression has provided me with a broad and technically robust foundation across trenching operations, cable lay, rigid and flexible pipelay, and diving operations, enabling me to operate effectively across multiple disciplines and project phases.I bring extensive international experience managing offshore subsea and construction campaigns, overseeing diverse, multicultural teams, and consistently delivering projects safely, efficiently, and ahead of schedule. My hands-on offshore leadership is complemented by strong office-based project involvement, including procedure review and authorship, constructability input, and close collaboration with project and engineering teams to ensure offshore operations are practical, compliant, and optimised for execution.I have worked closely with diving contractors and operators, contributing to the development of diving manuals, system design reviews, and operational readiness processes. My experience includes acting as Client Representative, conducting diving system audits, and ensuring full alignment with regulatory, contractual, and safety requirements. My career includes successful delivery of projects across multiple global regions, encompassing heavy construction and platform installations in the Middle East, IRM campaigns, rigid and flexible pipelay operations in Asia, West Africa, and the North Sea, as well as FPSO hook-ups and buoy installation projects.Alongside my operational experience, I hold a Diploma in Project Management and have studied Law, strengthening my capability to manage projects from both a technical and commercial perspective, with a clear understanding of contractual, regulatory, and risk considerations. With a comprehensive background in heavy lifting, subsea construction, diving, trenching, and pipelay, I offer end-to-end insight into offshore energy projects from early planning and engineering through to offshore execution driven by a relentless focus on safety, efficiency, quality, and delivery excellence.
