ABOUT DENNIS BRUCE

I am an economist with 35 years of experience in the public, private and consulting sectors. I have specialized expertise in infrastructure economics, risk analysis, and forecasting. I lead HDR\'s Economic Advisory practice in Canada. I help clients understand the impacts of infrastructure investments and organizational decisions using approaches that embrace an understanding of risk and uncertainity in the decision-making process. Our practice is very successful in helping our clients secure funding from competitive federal grant programs in Canada and the U.S.I have provided expert witness evidence and testimony on economic and financial matters in a variety of forums including: Finance Committees of the Parliament of Canada (twice), the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission, the Ontario Energy Board, the California Public Utilities Commission, the Federal Court of Canada\'s judicial review (between Oceanex Inc, Canada (Minister of Transport) and Marine Atlantic Inc.) and to the NL Provincial Court Judges Salary and Benefits Tribunal (twice). I have presented at several conferences and been a keynote speaker at a variety of professional development and investor events.Prior to joining HDR, I led Bell Canada\'s Decision Support unit (business case evaluation team). I am very active in my community. I currently serving on two boards: as Chairperson for the Corner Brook Port Corporation and President of the Corner Brook Curling Club.In my spare are time I am an avid curler. I have been fortunate enough to coach Team Bruce (U21, Memorial SeaHawks) to two National Silver Medals in 2019 and 2020. I have also represented Newfoundlabd and Labrador at 3 national curling championships.
