   Great Lakes Properties has been active in developing retail land and shopping center properties in the western and northwestern Chicago marketplace. Our special expertise has been to locate, assemble, entitle and acquire large vacant tracts of land for commercial development.The company conducted its activities with a small core of key people and leveraged its capabilities by engaging the services of outside civil engineers, land planners, architects, construction managers, real estate brokers and other service providers to accomplish its acquisition and development goals. Financing was arranged with regional banks and equity was raised from local institutions and high-net worth individuals.Completed projects consisted of more than 300 acres of land acquired from 8 different sellers from 1988 until 2003 that were ultimately developed into more than 40 separate parcels to serve restaurants, banks, small shops, big-box retailers, hospitals and entertainment users. Sales and leases were completed with Meijer, Walmart, Kerasotes Theatres, The Home Depot, Lowe\'s, Dominick\'s Fresh Market, Darden Restaurants, Brinker International, Red Robin, Edwards Hospital, The Patio, Bennigan\'s, Andy\'s, ALDI, Chase Bank, PNC Bank and others,The company also built 6 shopping centers on land parcels it developed and performed the leasing and management until sale. Small shop tenants included Starbucks, Chipotle, FedEx, Caribou Coffee, Noodles & Co, Lou Malnati\'s Pizza, Hollywood Video and others.The total valuation of all of these activities exceeded $200 million. All properties have been sold.The Company is pursuing the acquisition of large commercial development tracts of land in the Austin, TX, area and, more particularly, within Williamson County. These opportunities are expected to provide a multi-year development and value creation cycle in the most dynamic, high growth and high profile marketplace in the country.
