Transforming lab and clinical data using computational methods under the advisory of Christina Cuomo to better understand, diagnose, and eventually help patients overcome infectious fungal diseases- Developed a pathogen classification algorithm in Python and R to accelerate fungal infection diagnosis using a novel molecular diagnostic method which hopes to massively speed up classification of infection giving patients much brighter outcomes- Visualized and analyzed gene expression with R–based drug resistance patterns using Nanostring probe-hybridization data alongside Dr. Roby Bhattacharya, supporting faster clinical decision-making in infectious disease treatment. We are within the final stages of writing a manuscript and hope to see this technology in the field soon- Performed variant calling analysis to quantify single mutation differences between fungal infections within the gut and blood in order to better understand how infectious diseases evolve- Consulted by leading scientists at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to evaluate and visualize models for a drug resistance study; insights contributed to a manuscript currently under final stages of revision.
