Assistant Project Manager for the Earthworks component of Waterfront Toronto\'s Port Lands Flood Protection Enabling Infrastructure project, valued at $1.25 billion, located in downtown Toronto, OntarioResponsible for managing approximately $170 million worth of two significant Trade Package subcontracted scopes, which encompass Pricing, Scheduling, Invoicing, Change Management, Design Coordination, Safety, Contract Disputes, and Project Closeout.Key Responsibilities- Conducting monthly reviews and processing payments for subcontractors- Procuring and preparing targeted bid packages by offering necessary technical clarifications to subcontractors to secure competitive pricing for project scope completion- Leading meetings and communications regarding claims, change orders, and payment-related issues- Collaborating with various stakeholders to address unapproved change orders, successfully reducing an unpaid backlog from $3.5 million to under $1 million- Working with project designers and consultants, including MVVA, Stantec, and WSP, to resolve significant change orders and claims, thereby alleviating project bottlenecks- Overseeing the closeout and reconciliation of completed scopes, ensuring that financial and technical requirements are met according to project specifications- Coordinating site investigations to validate design assumptions and create excavation surfaces while avoiding interference with existing underground assets- Utilizing 3D and drone survey data for planning and progress updates.Technical Project Scope Involvement Includes- Earthworks: Mass excavation, movement, placement & fine grading- Marine: Dredging, pile removal, underwater demolition, and river flooding management- Environmental: Dewatering, soil testing, and classification- Demolition: Addressing conflicts due to below-ground utilities and obstructions.
