   I founded Vital Wave to support digital initiatives in developing countries. The brand that we have built has become synonymous with quality and rigor in the digital-for-development space. Our practice areas have grown to include digital health, digital financial services, eLearning, digital agriculture, and mobile women, with a client base of blue-chip companies across high-tech and pharmaceutical industries. Vital Wave also works with the UN Foundation, the World Bank, the Gates Foundation, and other organizations to create digital strategy in the development community, foundations, and aid agencies. We helped Intel establish the Intel World Ahead, their program to make technology more affordable and accessible worldwide, and are working with the World Bank to implement a digital financial services platform for the government of Somalia to pay civil servants through mobile phones. We led formation and served as a primary partner of a consortium working to use digital solutions for malaria surveillance and data collection across the globe; facilitated the convening that resulted in the creation of the mHealth Alliance, the annual mHealth Summit, and the Global Health Forum; and also facilitated events and led development of the East African digital health strategic plan, now approved by the ministers of health in six countries. We also partner with global organizations on digital health strategy and worked with a group of major global health donors to develop the landmark Principles for Donor Alignment in Digital Heath, which coordinate funding for greater impact.
