My interest in HR began when I lead a team of 40-50 ride operators at Six Flags. I made plenty of mistakes, but I learned that an engaged team could produce amazing outcomes. Within 3 summers I was leading a team of 350+ diverse employees and leaders as an Operations Supervisor. My curiosity for the most valuable company asset, its people, grew. Majoring in HR Management allowed me to apply HR concepts in real time. I had the autonomy to create onboarding strategy; design and implement a computer-based learning process; and execute a leadership succession program. Turnover was reduced by 30%. New hire training time/cost decreased by 40% and improved service and safety scores. Tenure in front line leadership improved 120% and gaps in the pipeline were eliminated. After graduation I chose to work for Target. I gained experience in retail operations, internal investigation, complex employee relations, payroll management, and much more. I executed multiple operational roll outs, requiring project management skills, creating employee buy-in, and managing change. The fast-paced development allowed me to experience multiple stores which reinforced my understanding of leadership. I learned from some of the most talented leaders in the industry and I saw leaders fail. I built up broken teams to become thriving teams. I had the opportunity to train peers, and senior leadership. I was able to see first-hand how a major corporation successfully executes HR compliance, strategy and create “The Best Team in Retail”. Then my network led me to ADP TotalSouce. As a HR Business Partner I apply my experience to consult small business from technology to non-profits. I am a trusted advisor to the CEO, CFO, CHRO and owners of 60+ companies ranging from 15-500 Employees. I develop strategy based on current and future HR needs, including workforce planning, culture transformation, rapid growth and scaling, legislative changes, mergers and acquisitions, compliance, leadership development, compensation design, data analysis and more. Internally, I am a subject matter expert on ADP’s Salesforce platform, and client facing Workforce Now HRIS. I provide training and support for my peers across the country. I am motivated by the opportunity to learn new things, solve problems, and to help others be successful.
