As a meteorologist for NBC7 San Diego, I have the privilege of gathering and presenting weather-driven data and graphics to thousands of viewers across San Diego County. While most of my forecasts are presented at the chroma key, I also create weather explainers for Instagram Reels, Stories, and TikToks to reach our audience on social platforms. Daily, I utilize WSI systems to input data and view the radar/satellite, but I also have recent experience using Baron technology as well. My role at NBC7 is two-fold as I am also a general assignment field reporter. Working alongside a photographer, I respond to breaking news and also write stories for all newscasts. My day typically goes like this: pitch story ideas, interview multiple people, log sound, write multiple versions of a script, post story-related updates on social media platforms, and front live and recorded standups for at least two prime-time newscasts.
