Their breakthroughs span disciplines—from soft wearable robotics that restore mobility, to technologies making hydrogen fuel cheaper and cleaner, to brain implants that convert neural activity into speech.A microbiologist by training, my career began in scientific publishing at The Journal of Clinical Investigation, where I built expertise spanning immunology, oncology, neuroscience, and metabolism. Transitioning into nonprofit leadership at the Academy, I scaled 60+ international conferences annually and led consulting engagements for governments and philanthropies—advising on strategic R&D investments and STEM capacity building to strengthen innovation ecosystems.Beyond the C-suite, I serve as a public voice for science—authoring op-eds in The Washington Post, International Business Times, and The Chronicle of Philanthropy, and appearing on stages worldwide—from the United Nations to South by Southwest.
